Pineapple pulp
Ananas comosus
Frozen pineapple pulp, 100% natural, no added sugar. Golden Colombian pineapple for juices, cocktails and sauces. Export-ready from Bogotá to the US.
What is frozen pineapple pulp?
Frozen pineapple pulp is Colombian pineapple (Ananas comosus) harvested ripe, pulped and frozen right away at our plant in Bogotá. Nothing else is added: no sugar, no water, no preservatives, no colorants. It is golden, juicy pineapple ready to blend, cook or shake — with none of the peeling, coring or waste of the whole fruit.
At Alimentos Pronalfrut we have been producing it since 1997, working directly with Colombian growers and hand-checking every fruit before it enters the line. That is how each batch delivers the same golden color and the same reliable sweetness.
Colombian pineapple, ripened under tropical sun
Colombia grows some of the sweetest pineapple in the Americas. Steady equatorial sun and the soils of regions like Santander and Valle del Cauca let the fruit ripen fully on the plant, loading it with natural sugar and aroma. Unlike pineapple that is picked green and ripened in a warehouse on its way north, ours is harvested ready to eat — and frozen at exactly that point.
The difference shows in the glass: this pulp tastes like pineapple cut open at a beach stand, not like the fruit aisle in January.
A golden, juicy flavor profile
Pineapple opens sweet and refreshing, follows with a gentle acidity that cleans the palate, and finishes on a long tropical aroma. It is one of the most universally loved fruit flavors — an easy yes on any menu, from a breakfast juice to a poolside cocktail — and a familiar taste of home for Latin American communities across the US.
That versatility makes it a workhorse ingredient: it moves effortlessly between the juice bar, the pastry station and the savory line.
Bromelain and real-fruit nutrition
Beyond flavor, pineapple provides bromelain, a natural enzyme unique to this fruit and traditionally linked to good digestion. It is also a source of vitamin C and provides manganese, along with the hydration of a genuinely juicy fruit. Because we freeze the pulp the same day the fruit is processed, much of that goodness arrives intact.
Uses in the kitchen, the bar and foodservice
- Juices and smoothies: one 100 g sachet plus water or milk makes a tall glass of golden juice.
- Piña colada and cocktails: a real-fruit base for coladas, daiquiris and tropical mocktails.
- Sweet-and-sour sauces: glazes for pork, ribs and chicken, and Asian-style sauces.
- Baking: fillings, upside-down cakes, jams and toppings.
- Spicy dishes: its sweetness balances chiles and curries and brightens ceviches and tacos.
In hospitality it is a high-rotation staple. Clients like Solar Hotels & Resorts, whom we have supplied since 2011, and GHL Sunrise pour it daily in breakfast buffets and pool bars across the Caribbean.
Frozen at peak ripeness: why flavor and nutrients survive
Freezing the pulp on the day it is processed stops the fruit’s clock. Rapid freezing forms ice crystals small enough to leave the pineapple’s structure intact, so aroma, color and nutrients are preserved far better than in pasteurized pulps — or in “fresh” fruit that spent a week in transit and on display.
For a buyer, that means consistent quality 365 days a year, exact portioning and zero waste: you only thaw what you use.
