Strawberry pulp
Fragaria × ananassa
100% natural frozen strawberry pulp from Colombia's high savanna. No added sugar. For smoothies, desserts and cocktails. Wholesale and export supply.
What is strawberry pulp?
Strawberry pulp is exactly what it sounds like: ripe strawberries (Fragaria × ananassa) selected, washed, pulped and frozen the same day they reach our plant — no added sugar, no water, no preservatives, no colorants. Thaw it and you have the flavor and aroma of a strawberry at peak ripeness, ready to blend, bake or shake, twelve months a year.
At Alimentos Pronalfrut we have produced it in Bogotá since 1997, working directly with growers on the surrounding savanna. That proximity matters: strawberries are fragile and lose quality within hours of harvest, so we process them before that clock runs out.
High-altitude strawberries from the Bogotá savanna
Our strawberries grow on the savanna of Bogotá, more than 2,500 meters (8,200 ft) above sea level. At that altitude the fruit ripens slowly — intense equatorial sun by day, cool nights year-round — which concentrates sugars and aromatics and produces a berry that is more fragrant and more deeply colored than lowland fruit.
You can taste the origin in the pulp: the red is vivid and completely natural, the aroma fills the kitchen the moment you open the pack, and the sweetness comes balanced by a fresh acidity that makes a smoothie taste like fruit, not like flavoring.
Flavor profile: sweet, floral and fresh
High-altitude strawberry has one of the friendliest profiles in the fruit world: upfront sweetness, floral notes and a gently tart finish that keeps it refreshing. It pairs as easily with dairy and chocolate as with citrus, basil or mint, which makes it one of the most versatile SKUs a kitchen can stock — the same pulp works in a breakfast smoothie, a plated dessert and an evening cocktail.
For US menus it is a safe, high-rotation flavor with a genuine origin story: tropical-highland fruit, single origin, clean label.
A source of antioxidants, fiber and vitamin C
Strawberries are a naturally generous fruit: a source of vitamin C and fiber, with natural antioxidants such as the anthocyanins behind their red color. Because we freeze the fruit at its exact point of ripeness, the pulp retains much of that nutritional value — something fresh berries that spent days in transit and on display can no longer claim.
Uses in foodservice, hospitality and retail
- Smoothies and juices: 100 g of pulp with milk, yogurt or water yields one tall glass of real strawberry flavor.
- Desserts: coulis for cheesecake, cake fillings, mousses and artisan ice cream bases.
- Jams: a consistent, ready-to-cook base for small-batch or industrial production.
- Sweet sauces: toppings for waffles, pancakes, crepes and breakfast bowls.
- Cocktails: strawberry daiquiris, margaritas and frozen lemonades with 100% natural color.
In hospitality, strawberry never sits still: breakfast buffets, kids’ menus, juice bars and banquets all pull from the same case. We supply operations such as Solar Hotels & Resorts — a client since 2011 — GHL Sunrise and Casablanca in San Andrés, where flavor consistency matters as much as price. It is also a natural fit for Latin groceries and juice concepts across Florida, where customers already know and ask for real fruit pulp.
Why frozen beats “fresh”
A ripe strawberry has a shelf life measured in days: firmness, aroma and vitamins fade fast. Freezing the fruit on harvest day stops that clock. Rapid freezing forms small ice crystals that preserve the fruit’s structure, so the pulp arrives in your kitchen with day-one color, fragrance and nutrition — and with zero waste, because you only thaw the portion you need.
